Update on SB 92 (housing cost impact statement) and SB 149 (revise fire insurance premium tax)

Today I had SB 92 (An Act to require proposed rules to include a housing cost impact statement) and SB 149 (An Act to revise the fire insurance premium tax) up in different committees. Both bills found success and didn't receive any Nay votes. SB 92 was placed on the consent calendar, and SB 149 was sent to Joint Appropriations with a do pass recommendation. Now the hard work will be getting SB 149 out of committee as it moves additional funds from the general fund to the SD State Firefighters Association to help pay for State Fire School, Firefighter 1, and Firefighter 2 courses. Currently, they receive $30,000; with this bill, it would be approximately $130,000.
